Cherish And Remember

15th March 2008

Today, i have decided to start blogging.. as to ensure that every single memorable events in my life will not be forgotten as well as sharing them with others. My suddent determination of blogging is due to the death of my beloved grandfather, which made me realise the importance of cherishing our friends and family
Three days ago, in the early morning about 7am, my grandfather went for morning walk and was heading back home and was unfortunately involved in a traffic accident and has passed away.... An indian motorcyclist who believed to be no older than 40yr old was speeding as not many vehicles were on the road. The doctor told us that my grandpa has serious skull fracture which was caused by heavy DIRECT impact force, such impact was most likely caused by the hitting of the rider's helmet against my grandpa's head. Imagine how fast the rider was...
It was fortunate that we all managed to reach the hospital in time to see him for the last time before he passes away. However, i doubt my grandpa acknowledges our presence as he has already went into coma stage by the time he reached hospital. The sudden death of my grandpa shocked every single person in my family as well as the neighbours. My grandma cried several times during these 5 days, i guess she still could not completely accept the death of my grandpa although she has already calmed down a bit now.
During these few days in my grandparents' house, i was thinking... What is the meaning of life? What do we hope to gain by struggling so hard to keep on living? Apart from death, what else awaits us at the end of our journey of life? When a person passes away, all that was left is just the empty body... that is why, memories are important as they are one's most valuable memento. Every single person will eventually meet their death, the only reason everybody keep on living is because of hope and memory, each of us have our own memorable moments with either friends or family and we are looking forward to create more of them. When we are upset or in despair, we look back at those beautiful moments with others as we will gain comfort from them.
I do not regret about my grandpa's death as he will keep on living in my memory until the day i die...
